Thanks to my mother-in-law I was able to travel to Italy and what an experience that was! The people are so kind and very welcoming. The food was absolutely wonderful and the gelatto, well, words cannot describe the yumminess! I was about 5 months pregnant and the jolliest American around considering we stayed right in the heart of Florence and there was food everywhere! We were in Italy for about three and a half weeks and went to Florence, Rome, Pisa, and Sienna. I took over 750 pictures and filled our 30gb video camera with awesome footage! I even set off one of the alarms in the Colosseum! That crazy prego American!
We got to see the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Statue of David, the Sistine Chapel, and much more. The Duomo in Florence was by far my favorite and the Baptistry accross from it had some awesome doors made of gold that I could hardly get myself to walk away from. Florence was my favorite place to be and the musical entertainment and artists on the streets were outstanding! The fashion was smashing, but unfortunately I was working on getting fat so I didn’t get to try anything on or purchase much clothing. Of course I came back with a few leather coats and purses. A girl has got to accessorize!
It was a trip of a lifetime and I would highly recommend everyone go and experience what the Italians have to offer. They are wonderful people with breathtaking talents! Traffic lanes don’t exist and road signs and traffic lights are just a suggestion. Watch out for those cab drivers, as one of them gave us the ride of a lifetime. I never laughed so hard in a cab while fearing for my life at the same time! I just booked a trip to Italy!!! If you are planning a trip make sure you use http://www.1000travelsites.com to find the best prices for flights and hotels. They search pretty much every travel provider on the web in a matter of seconds! Then they list the prices from all of the travel providers on one page so you definitely get the lowest price every time. I’ve tried other sites like this before, but this one aways has the most listings and the best prices. It’s like the google of travel searches.

I would suggest when you get there you talk with the locals about places they love to visit and any tips they may have. We had a great conversation with the owners of one of the leather shops and they had wonderful suggestions on places to visit that you wouldn’t know about.
