I am so proud and happy to say that I will be opening my dance studio within the next year at home! We will be building my dance studio on the second floor of my husbands shop. It’s going to be a 30×50 studio and will feature hip hop dance and a variety of other styles of dance that Fairbanks is craving! Until the studio is finished
I am currently teaching youth hip hop classes at the Artisan’s Courtyard for 9-12yr olds and 5-8yr olds. Classes will begin September 5th and run through December 14th for the fall semester and run January 9th through May 23rd for the spring semester. Tuesday – Youth Hip Hop (9-12yrs)- 5:00-6:00 Studio 1
Wednesday – Youth Hip Hop (5-8yrs)- 5:30-6:30 Studio 2
I do not have any dress requirements and really want the kids to feel free to express themselves. Just please no bellies or booty’s exposed. There are no street shoes allowed in the studio and I would recommend you have a flat bottom sneaker or dance sneaker that doesn’t stick when they turn. This is hip hop so you want to give your kids good support to bounce around on. Please don’t send them to class in ballet shoes or socks. Your children will not be allowed to participate in class if they are in socks. There is a great selection of dance sneakers available now that I didn’t have when I was younger. If you Google dance apparel or dance shoes you will find many websites to choose from. But by no means do you have to purchase dance sneakers or dance shoes. They can wear any sneakers they feel most comfortable in as long as they aren’t their street shoes. There is a wonderful window for the parents to watch their kids during class so please I ask that only the students be in the room so there are no distractions.
I have been dancing since I was 5 years old and took a break in my 20′s for many years while starting my family. I started dancing again a few years ago and missed it greatly. I love all styles of dance and have always had a strong desire to express myself through dance and feel that most studios don’t allow individual expression. I have always gravitated towards hip hop, funk, and any kind of high energy dance. I wanted to offer Fairbanks some youth dance classes that they could really exert some energy in while having fun at the same time. I love teaching kids and have taught jazz, tap, and hip hop and see the need for them to really exert themselves and be kids. I am very excited to start teaching youth hip hop on my own as I am a big kid myself and tend to think outside the box. Thank you for inquiring about my studio and I hope to see you soon!

What age group are you interested in and what type of dance? I teach kids hip hop and Zumbatomic for ages 5-12 years. There is an instructor I am taking hip hop classes with that I just love! I will email you her information.
